Spertech Appoints Edwin Brasch as President and CEO
Veteran Entrepreneur to Provide Strategic Direction for Eco-Friendly Wallboard Developer
(SANTA FE, NM – October 15, 2008) Spertech, the developer of an innovative green alternative to traditional wallboard, today announced the appointment of Edwin Brasch as president and chief executive officer (CEO). Brasch, with extensive executive management experience, will oversee all aspects of the company’s business development operations.
Spertech developed a patented method to manufacture environmentally friendly wallboard. The company’s Greentech Wallboard™ uses fly-ash, a by-product of the coal combustion process, rather than gypsum, which is manufactured through energy-intensive superheating methods. Greentech Wallboard is comprised of 98% recycled content, and produced with virtually no carbon emissions out of materials that would otherwise be deposited in landfills. In his role of president and CEO, Brasch is administering the licensing provisions of this technology.
“My decision to join Spertech is founded on the company’s ability to provide an innovative alternative to environmentally destructive wallboard manufacturing processes,” Brasch said. “Industry research indicates that drywall manufacturing accounts for approximately one percent of all U.S. energy consumption. Spertech will revolutionize the construction industry by delivering an efficient, green alternative to the traditional wallboard manufacturing methods.
“Spertech has incredible potential to establish green drywall as an industry alternative building material. My experience managing and developing profitable, rapid growth companies will enable me to identify the most suitable partner to license this technology and drive the market adoption of Greentech Wallboard.”
Brasch brings nearly 30 years of sales, marketing, and business development experience to his new position at Spertech. Prior to joining the company he served as president and CEO of Winternals Software where he guided the company from the early startup stage through its acquisition by Microsoft Corporation. The company was profitable during all seven years of his term as executive officer. While at Winternals, Brasch negotiated the favorable settlement of the company’s copyright infringement lawsuit against Best Buy. Brasch has also been president and partner of PSI Fulfillment Company and was co-founder of The Calendar Club, now a division of Barnes & Noble.
